May 22, 201115 yr Hi Joe L. I'm currently updating to 4.7 and then to perhaps 5.0-beta6a "stable" (??). I've also got your newest UnMenu 1.3 installed on the flash and have been looking at the packages. I realize that I'm a total klunk/novice with respect to Linux and sometimes even have problems w/your fantastic suggestions, but I need a bit of help with UnMenu and "other" packages. 1. - I can't get to the Main UnMenu screen by typing //tower:8080/ I can get it by typing //10.0.0.50:8080/ but the default for all the subsequent paths to your wonderful add-ons have to be changed individually. Is there a way to tell my "network" that 10.0.0.50 (static IP) is = to "Tower". I saw your comment about changing MyHost & unRAIDHOST = 10.0.0.50 (in my case) but this has seemingly occured with Win7 and my GigE Switch. 2. - I've tried to download the Mail package in UnMenu but it is not finding the test script command ssmtp-d. I would very much like to use it primarily for notifying me if the system is down d/t overtemp. I hear a fan periodically and wonder if its going bad. 3. - My major efforts in upgrading is to get the unRaid box to appear to my Media Servers. Like many "moons' ago we discussed the MG35 series, but its pretty passe. I've tried PBO/Twonky/ PLEX on my computer and various others and now have a Sony Media Center. Its seems pretty neat, but does not have anyway that I've found to set a path ie \\Tower (0r 10.0.0.50)\Movies my unRaid Share. It does do DLNA. I've found the miniDLNA download that Bagpuss has put forth, but being such a novice am not sure how to load it. 4. - I've also looked at your cache_dirs and think that would be a good addition, but I do not currently run a cache drive. My Movies/TV/Music are the primary shares plus I've setup 1 disk for my Data Server (info, word, excel, taxes etc.) and it has to spin up periodically just to find a file. I'm not sure I need a cache drive or even the program, but value your thoughts. 5. - Finally, I'm sure that others can answer, but is there a way to set these additions to the unRaid such that when it boots, it will auto-start your unMenu and all of the packages. My system has really worked well for over 4 years thanks to you, Tom and several others. Its really nice to have you available when questions come up. Thanks, hope to hear from you soon. Regards, Dave
May 23, 201115 yr 1) I had this problem (OSX) and had to edit my hosts file to add the address. so eg 192.168.1.xx Tower - then your computer will associate the name of your server with that IP address. Or try rebooting your router as it should handle that ideally. 2) Is it downloading the first but not the second item in the package? My workaround for this was to bring up that package list in a browser, then right click 'save as' on each package - in your case ssmtp. Save it to your computer, and then copy it to the packages folder on your USB drive. You should be able to do that over the network to the 'flash' share. Then go back to the packages section and find mail again. This time it should detect you have all the pieces and let you install it. 4) curious about this too. I have a 500GB samsung 2.5" drive I don't plan to put in the data drives, but want some working space for sabnzbd temporary downloads and just general storage. I'm not sure I particularly need a cache drive as most of the access will be from background apps like sabnzbd, and that'll have its own storage, moving it to the array when its finished. In that case speed isn't particularly critical. I can imagine if you plan to use the machine for backups of other PCs on the network it would make sense to consider a cache drive to keep backup times down 5) after you install each package (eg mail), it brings up a results screen. On that screen is a button saying something like 'install so it appears after a reboot'. click that button so mail starts every time unRAID does.

I had accidentally introduced a bug in the package manager that prevent it from properly download a package with multiple file to download. If you "Check for Updates" in unMENU it should download the fixed version. Joe L.
