Cache drive + Plex help please

I’m just about purchase the hardware for the server, just a couple of questions about cache and plex.

1.     If I have one cache drive, can I store my plex metadata on it?

2.     If so, can I have said cache drive backed up onto the pool, periodically?

3.     If not, can I add an SSD separate from the pool to hold the metadata?
