Server unreachable randomly - new router

Featured Replies

Hey there,

Virgin Media came and replaced their old router with a new one. The server plugs directly into this router. It boots normally and can be accessed remotely but then at some point in time (10 mins to an hour or so later) suddenly becomes unreachable.

The problem must be the new router because nothing else has changed but I cannot see any settings that would cause this intermittent access. Interestingly earlier I was pinging the server and had a 25% ish response rate, so some messages are getting through.

I wondered if anyone else had experienced this behaviour and might have some advice?

Diags attached for reference.

Cheers :)

Do you have a static IP address assigned to your Unraid server?  (If you do, make sure that the router 'knows' not to assign that address via DCHP.)

Hi there,

Well after trying everything under the sun it turned out to be a faulty UPS. The network cable is routed through it, I'm not sure what went wrong with it but having taken it out of the equation everything is working as expected again.

All the best :)
