[6.10.3] Warning: Share xxx references non existent cache pool yyy

Featured Replies

How exactly do we fix this error?

Share xxx references non existent cache pool yyy

This error pops up if you have renamed or removed a cache pool from your system.  When doing this, the OS does not automatically adjust any existing share settings, and behaviour of your files may have unexpected results.  Your easiest solution is to simply change the reference to which cache pool the share is using within it's share settings

What does this part mean exactly?  Can someone post a screenshot of what it's talking about?  It's not really clear for new users what we need to do to fix this?

Thank you.

attach diagnostics to your NEXT post in this thread

Thanks, but I figured it out.  I added SSD drives as cache pools.  Upon initializing the drives, the default file system is XFS.

However, after poking about in the forums, reddit, and other sites... many suggested that BTRFS is better for SSD cache pools.

I changed the file system but didn't reformat the drives.

The common errors plugin could probably be tweaked to take into consideration this scenario.

I'll leave the solution here for future googlers to find.

It doesn't sound to me as if you have figured it out. The message is talking about the name of your pools, not what filesystem it is formatted as.

If you don't want to post diagnostics, post a screenshot of the User Shares page.

And this doesn't make any sense at all. There is no way to change a filesystem without reformatting.

Diagnostics would really be the easiest way for us to see what your problem is.

Are you saying the specified pool didn't exist at all because it was unmountable?
