Extend an existing partition of Ubuntu VM

Featured Replies

Can anyone help me extend an existing partition of Ubuntu VM?

I have increased the vdisk from 50G to 100G by reading at this tut https://wiki.unraid.net/Manual/VM_Management

But I can't find a tutorial to extend the partition with CMD only.

You can't do it from the os itself if the disk is the only one (or even if you can do it, it could be very risky).

You can boot a gparted live iso and mount the vdisk in there and you will be able to extend the partition.

You can make a new vm booting from the gparted iso with the additional vdisk attached.
