Venares
Guys, I currently have a system with 3 Samsung F3's running quite happily but am now running out of space and need to add additional storage. My question is this. As my current drives are not 4k my system is currently set to "Default partition format: MBR UnAligned". Do I need to change this to "MBR 4k Aligned" when adding the new 4k format drives. And are there any gotchas I should be aware of. Quote Link to comment
lionelhutz
Just change it and use 4k-aligned for all new disks. Do NOT install jumpers on any new WD EARS drives. If you install a WD EARS drive with a jumper then change back to unaligned while you install it. Peter Quote Link to comment
