DexUltron
I had an unraid server running for almost 3 years without issue. It was an 8700k, Auros z390, 32gb ram, 7 disk array (8tb each), running an HBA to facilitate part of the array. Had little to no issues with at least 5 streams (2 direct 3 transcoding). My main workstation got upgraded to 12th gen Intel and the AMD 5950x, Asus X570-e, GForce 64gb Ram, and RTX 3070 FE that was in that workstation got donated to the server. Ever since I have had nothing but random issues. I decided it was time to "start over." Got a new Flash Drive and installed Unraid as a fresh 6.11 server with all drives formatted and no data/containers/vms migrated from my original server. I still can't get it to run correctly. I know it is all overkill for what I in general use it for. I'm not a big fan of selling used electronics and its a perfect second use for my old workstation. If I can get it to work. My issues: 1. Constant syslog issue shown below: Oct 5 07:49:01 UltCon webGUI: Successful login user root from 10.0.0.86 Oct 5 07:49:02 UltCon avahi-daemon[6602]: Service "UltCon" (/services/smb.service) successfully established. As well as seems to be an issue when streaming. I can watch a stream for 2 hours and then all of a sudden it will just start to buffer/jump/slow. I have gig internet service at my residence and it does this as a local issue (on same network). 2. On a reboot. It seems it wont completely shut down and unmount all disks. I hit reboot and sometimes it may take 3 hours for it to actually shutdown. Reboot comes back up quickly with no issues. 3. I try to install windows 11 VM (have a working ubuntu VM) and it will run through the install process and then when it goes to reboot it will not show anything but a black screen in VNC. 4. For whatever reason I have had the server literally stop being responsive at times. Not just GUI. Full freeze of streaming, unable to use SMB, and showing heavy resource usage. I understand that this is all hard to help me with without diagnostic logs. I haven't really had a need for help with all the youtube videos out there and the many many threads I have read I can normally find the issue and move forward. But not lately. Is it something with my hardware? Settings? Any basic suggestions as I have gone through the frequently asked and nothing really seems to match my issue. The Ryzen stuff is written for shows for 1,2,3 but haven't seen people saying its happening on 5. More information on my server: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.
