June 30, 201115 yr Hi guys, Quick question, just catching the end of the parity check that is run automtically with the monthly parity check package set to nocorrect. I've just noticed that only a few of the disks have spun up. Is that the way it is supposed to happen? I thought it was supposed to read the data to check if everything was correct? Thanks Josh

Thanks Josh were the ones not spinning smaller in size that the ones that were spinning? If so, they did not need to be spinning when calculating parity on the disk blocks greater than their size.

I only have 1 x 2TB drive (other than the parity) and they are the only ones spining. The rest are 1.5TBs so that is probably it. The 1.5TB ones spun down about 1 hour after the 75% mark. Thanks Josh
June 30, 201115 yr Could the drives have been spinning but you were watching the unRAID web page? I've noticed flashing green doesn't seem to follow parity checks, formats, or clears.
June 30, 201115 yr Author I refreshed a few times and checked both myMain and the unRAID webpage. Josh
