Support Modify share permission

Recommended Posts

I've been recently testing the AD integration in Unraid and I can't seem to get just Modify permission to work on shares. Using the latest 6.11.2 release with the patches mentioned in the ongoing intermittent SMB issue thread it seems that anything permission using "Modify" results in having "Full Control" enabled instead.

Initially joined using Administrator and Domain Admins for initial access. Simply adding a new AD group and selecting Modify and saving results in having Full Control always checked instead. I don't want users of this group to be able to make permission changes. Testing against a TrueNAS install seems to work appropriately.

Then click OK

Thought about rolling back to 6.9.x before reported samba issues, but this is for a new install. Personal use only but I do have an AD domain to consolidate user accounts across services and applications. Kind of a non-starter if I can't get this working. Reading through the other threads related to samba issues doesn't inspire confidence.

Mine seems to work as required in that sense, be sure to Click "Advance" and then "Replace all Child Objects......." then hit Apply.

Sometimes i have had Removed Security Groups such as "Domain Users" and "Everyone" re-appear after deletion though.

Hope that helps.

[Only issue I have is, NO shares will work unless "chmod 777 /mnt" is completed (Not recursive).]
