Hello,

This is just an idea, i don't know if its possible to make it work.


Why its needed:

Many UPS devices don't have USB connection or they use proprietary USB connection, I actually own a one of each device an APC UPS that has no USB and 1Kw UPS That only works on windows with their software.

 

What is Virtual UPS?

A driver that listens to connected Microphone.

When you set up a "virtual UPS", you unplug the power cord from your UPS and let it start beeping, the driver will record a sample sound of the beeps.

From that point the virtual UPS driver will be listening on the microphone for such beeps, when it detects them beeping longer than [user option] it will initiate a shutdown.
