I was searching for a directory using the terminal earlier when I noticed that an I/O error appearing when running commands (see below). I tried researching this online a bit, but I wasn't able to find any clear answer on what this is. 

find: ‘/sys/kernel/slab’: Input/output error
/bin/ls: reading directory '/sys/kernel/slab': Input/output error

 

Edit: All of this was done under root

    try 

    df -h

    in your terminal and make sure no disks are at 100% utilizations.
