Hello everyone,

I'm a new user and working my way through UnRaid. I have a nice new setup at home for my first personal server and I am finished with setting up local shares for the family and am now starting to work on everything else. First couple days on a test license and since

Today after working on the server I left for a few hours and after coming back I have this unpleasant surprise:

grafik.png.6fb0559ffe33ff5771b8112410e8a5dc.png

I didn't change my USB-Stick. After checking my order and chacking in UnRaid, I can see that the serial number of the USB-Stick has changed. At registration: xxxx-x000-0000-0000xxxxxxxx

Now: xxxx-x000-0000-000000000000

So basically the last numbers all changed to zero, the first 5 numbers stayed identical.

I bought a Transcend JetFlash 600 - 16GB because it was recommended for UnRaid. Plugged in on an internal USB2-Header on the motherboard.

Anyone any suggestions? USB-Stick bad?

Grasping at a straw here.  Shut the server down.  Unplug that Flash Drive and plug it into a USB port on the back of the server (preferably a USB2 port).

Ok, after rebooting the system everything is normal again. Is this just a booting error or is the USB stick somehow bad? I will observe if that is happening again.

If anyone has experience or suggestions, please write it in the thread.

Thanks for your reply, would have solved it as well I guess...

Not really.  I was presuming that either the Adapter was bad or the Flash Drive was bad.  By removing the Adapter from the equation and I having it work, would have been some proof that the Adapter was the problem.  If the problem was still present after the move, that would have suggested that the Flash Drive was the problem.

Since a reboot fixed it, nothing is really resolved unless it was a one-time gremlin... (I hope you are not one of those people who can say, "If I didn't have bad luck, I would have no luck at all".  😉  )
