June 4, 20233 yr was just upgrading a disk in my array (6TB -> 14TB) - given that the new (larger) disk was pre-cleared, should it be possible for Unraid to detect this and short-circuit writing any data higher than the old (smaller) disk size once it reconstructs that much of it? (given that the remainder is known to be 0-filled and have no impact on existing parity?) Edited June 4, 20233 yr by magic144 typo
June 4, 20233 yr Solution Possible, yes, but not likely. Relatively lots of programming and debugging for very little benefit. The existing method is proven to work in any case.
