Moving to a larger case and relpacing 1 drive

Recommended Posts

I've reached the limit of drives my current case can hold so am planning on moving to a larger one and intend replacing my smallest drive, could someone please sense check my plan? Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Change case - power down current system, move hardware to new one, boot into Unraid, stop the array, assign each disk to its current slot (as below) and then start the array.

Replace hard drive - once everything is up and running, stop the array, remove Disk 3, allocate that slot to the drive showing as Dev 1, restart the array and wait for one of the Parity drives to rebuild the data to the new disk.
