Upgraded from 4.5.3 to 4.7, server still says it's 4.5.3

Featured Replies

I upgraded by copying bzimage, bzroot memtest and to the flash share from a Windows machine. I then ssh'd into the unraid box and rebooted. uname -a shows "Linux unraid 2.6.32.9-unRAID #8 SMP Wed Nov 24 01:15:59 MST 2010" and the file dates for the 3 files in /boot are 01/24/2011, so it seems like they got upgraded. But if I go into the web interface, it still shows 4.5.3 in the upper right of the screen.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

That didn't do it. I also tried from a browser that I've never used to log in to the unraid server before. It is also showing 4.5.3.

Repeated, rebooted, cleared cache, same thing :( Very strange.

Is the latest beta of 5 relatively stable if I don't implement any new features? Think I might have better luck if I try that?

I really appreciate your assistance here.

The upgrade instructions for the beta require upgrading to 4.7 first. Run check disk on the flash in a windows machine.

check disk didn't find any problems :(

Do you have a second flash drive to test with?

  • Author

I found an old 1GB flash drive, downloaded a fresh 4.7, copied the config dir from the old flash drive, followed the rest of the instructions, and my box is now running 4.7. Thanks for your persistence.

Yep. Until I add a 4th drive :-)

sounds to me like you really did not copy the new bzroot and bzimage to the flash drive.
