July 8, 20232 yr Good day all. I have 2 Unraid servers. Both are plugged into the same UPS. Server 1 has the USB cable from the UPS plugged in and is configured in Settings to be the Master. Server 2 is connected to the service "NUT??" via IP:Port. Also, I have a Generac generator on an automatic transfer switch. When power goes out it takes about 90 seconds for the generator to take over and switch power. So, when the power goes out Server 1 (the one connected to the UPS directly) shuts down gracefully immediately. Server 2 stays up. When I get home, I have to power up Server 1. I can confirm this also because neither server does a parity or file system check. I have change around the settings on the UPS app and still I Cannot over come this. Here are my settings on Server 1. If anyone can point me into a direction that would be great. UPS cable: USB Custom UPS cable: UPS type: USB Device: Battery level to initiate shutdown (%): 10 Runtime left to initiate shutdown (minutes): 5 Time on battery before shutdown (seconds): 0 Turn off UPS after shutdown: NO APC001,025,0597DATE2023-07-08 14:27:01 -0400 HOSTNAMEUnraidVERSION3.14.14 (31 May 2016) slackware UPSNAMEUnraidCABLEUSB Cable DRIVERUSB UPS DriverUPSMODEStand Alone STARTTIME2023-07-07 18:55:45 -0400MODELTripp Lite UPS STATUSONLINELOADPCT24.0 Percent BCHARGE100.0 PercentTIMELEFT28.2 Minutes MBATTCHG10 PercentMINTIMEL5 Minutes MAXTIME0 SecondsALARMDELNo alarm NUMXFERS0TONBATT0 Seconds CUMONBATT0 SecondsXOFFBATTN/A SELFTEST??STATFLAG0x05000008 SERIALNOFW-2605 BEND APC2023-07-08 14:27:48 -0400

July 8, 20232 yr Author I did have it set to 400 and then I read the help: If during a power failure, the UPS has run on batteries for time-out many seconds or longer; apcupsd will initiate a system shutdown. A value of zero disables this timer. If you have a Smart UPS, you will most likely want to disable this timer by setting it to zero. That way, your UPS will continue on batteries until either the % charge remaining drops to or below Battery level or the remaining battery runtime drops to or below minutes. Of course - when testing - setting this to 60 causes a quick system shutdown if you pull the power plug. If you have an older dumb UPS, you will want to set this to less than the time you know you can run on batteries. My second server is set to 0 as well. Am I reading this wrong? Since I can't find any log that are persistent maybe I should pull the plug and test.
