Can only achieve full network speed with bridging disabled

Hi there. I'm currently using 6.9.2 and purchased a 2.5gbe switch. I connected my PC and NAS up to it and both immediately recognised the new 2.5gbe speeds using their Realtek 8125 NICs. When copying files to my unRAID cache from my Windows PC I was getting full 2.37 Gbits/s speed. However when copying files from my unRAID cache to my Windows PC I was only getting 1.14 Gbits/sec.

I had a quick look online but couldn't find a proper solution. In the end I disabled bridging under the network settings and bam, now I get full speed in both directions. I haven't changed anything else.

I would like to know:

a) Is this a bug, or expected?

b) What are the downsides, if any, of disabling bridging? My docker container still seems to work ok.

Thanks.
