Write through cache behavior

Featured Replies

Hi,

I was wondering if there's any way for write-through behavior with the cache. The behavior I want is something like not moving things off the cache until it's nearing max capacity, but to still have all the data in the main array. I've been looking around but all I could find is the mover-tuning plugin which doesn't quite do what I want. Thanks!

Unraid only supports a file being in 1 location (I.e. on a pool OR on the array) at a given point in time.

Ah! I figured. Thanks. On a slightly related note, if I hard-link something that's on the cache to somewhere on the array in the same share and later delete it when it is not yet moved off, the files will appear to be in the array but the data itself will still reside in the cache right? Will the mover be able to eventually move this data off the cache or am I understanding this fundamentally wrong?
