Parity and Data Drive Errors

Featured Replies

After upgrading Unraid to 6.12.3 I ran a parity check and the estimated time was +200 days.  I noticed that one of the parity drives was marked as disabled, so I removed it from the parity pair and retried.  Unfortunately, there was no change.  I've since shut down, checked and reseated the sata cables but the completion time did not change.   Now, the other parity drive is no longer visible and the parity drive that was disabled is now available and there does not appear to be a valid parity pair.  I've pulled the syslogs and the diagnostic files before rebooting into safe mode to run the SMART tests as I was receiving a "stopped by host" error.  After the restart, one of the data drives is now marked as disabled.  I've shut down the system to prevent data loss in the event that parity information is missing or invalid.

I've attached the syslogs, the diagnostics, and the SMART results for all 10 drives.  Please let me know what information I'm missing; any assistance or information would be greatly appreciated!

You are having issues with disks across all 3 controllers, suggesting a possible power problem, if you have a different PSU use it and also check all SATA cables then post new diags

That’s good to hear, I was afraid of a multiple drive failure.  I’m going to need to acquire a new psu with higher output.  I will post an update or new diags as soon as possible.

Thanks for the information Jorge that was the issue! Sorry about the delayed response.  I replaced my 650w power supply with 1000w and all the drives went online and stayed online and i was able to run a successful parity check.  👍
