Preclear 6 New Harddrives 1 slow Post-read

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I just purchased 6 20TB Seagate Exos drives and on the final leg of preclear. 5 of the disks seem to have the exact same average speeds for all sections of the preclear with the exception of one. My question is should I RMA this drive or is preclear have the possibility of having different results with the same drives? Just don't want to get stuck with a crappy drive as they are expensive.

The drive that seems to be having problems with post-read is Dev 1 in the screenshot and the previous 2 steps look good or the same as the others, it is just the post-read that doesn't look good. Would you return this drive?

This is what the 12 hour looks like for these drives in post-read. Note, I precleared 3 at a time so the first set all went well.

I'm just going to RMA the drive. Thanks for all the feedback everyone. 🤐
