log filling quickly

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've been trying to troubleshoot a nearly full Log. I would appreciate any information ya'll could provide for resolving this. I've reviewed search results within the forum but I'm having a hard time pinpointing the cause of my syslog being spammed. I'm a combination of relatively new user and idiot.

  • NerdTools is no longer installed, error persists
  • Smart tests of cache disks are completed w/o error.
  • Functionality of server is fantastic apart from when the log fills to 100%
  • Rebooting temp clears log but quickly fills again

Diag has been attached.

Thanks bunches.

JorgeB,

Thanks for your assistance. I've replaced the cable feeding WDC_WDS500G2B0A-00SM50_21101A803695

EDIT:

After replacing the cables I noticed continued errors spamming my logs. So I updated MOBO BIOS.

Errors persist. Log 2355 is the most recent.

Thanks again

Errors persist, you can try a different SATA port to rule that out, but possibly it's a device problem.

Thank you sir. By device do you mean the disk or mobo sata port being the culprit?

I am planning on replacing the disk. I’m out of sata ports.

thanks again for your assistance

Disk/SSD

I'm going to RTFM for replacing the SSD. I may shrink my cache pool. Dunno yet.

Thanks again for taking the time to assist. I greatly appreciate it.

I eliminated the disk. Errors are no longer spamming my logs. I'll continue to monitor but it appears either the port or disk was the problem.

Thanks again for your persistence in helping me diagnose this.
