October 19, 20232 yr Hi Woke up today to emails that one of the disks in the array is disabled. I may of made the mistake of rebooting the server sorry if I have. but I'm not sure what to do now. attached is the diagnostic logs from my server, if its the disk ill order a new one. tower-diagnostics-20231019-0716.zip
October 19, 20232 yr Community Expert Solution Because of the reboot we can't see what happened, but the disk looks healthy, suggest replacing cables to rule that out and assuming the emulated disk is still mounting and contents look correct you can rebuild on top: https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/manual/storage-management#rebuilding-a-drive-onto-itself
October 19, 20232 yr Author 14 minutes ago, JorgeB said: Because of the reboot we can't see what happened, but the disk looks healthy, suggest replacing cables to rule that out and assuming the emulated disk is still mounting and contents look correct you can rebuild on top: https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/manual/storage-management#rebuilding-a-drive-onto-itself Thank you i wouldn't know what cable to replace as its a HP microserver so its on a backplane id of expected all 4 disks would of had the fault as its a single connector to the board i think. i didn't think to check the content it says there's still used space on the disk just its marked as disable. after the reboot it allowed me to do a quick self test which passed but all the stats are zeroed but i don't know if they was unraid error stats showing in the main section or smart errors. i know i have a disk that does report a smart error so shows with a orange ! in the dash but i cant tell if it needs replacing or not.
October 19, 20232 yr Community Expert Like mentioned disk looks healthy, SMART looks fine, you can swap slots with a different disk and rebuild, in case the same thing happens again in the future.
