True, it is slower, but in a real-world application (like Unraid) you will not likely notice a difference because other factors are more limiting than the spindle speed. Plus, it uses about half the electricity enabling not only lower power bills, but being able to go with a smaller/cheaper PSU which also saves on the power bills. Bill Link to comment

Power savings not such a big deal with unRAID powering them down when not in use. Seagates are very reliable, have long warranty, and (according to people that have had to) very easy RMA process.
