Appdata path turning user into cache

Featured Replies

Hello, can anyone enlighten me on what is happening when I set the appdata path for my dockers. It starts as /mnt/user/xxx but when I set the location it automatically becomes /mnt/cache/xxx

Is there any difference between the two? Also I just updated to 6.12.4 and have my appdata as an Exclusive Share.

That is expected behaviour if you have Exclusive Shares enabled and meet the conditions on a particular share for it being Exclusive.   The /mnt/cache/xxx path is more efficient than going via /mnt/user/xxx as it bypasses the Fuse layer in Unraid.   This is described in the GUI help for the Exclusive setting under Settings->Global Share Settings
