Steps to get Plex Hardware Transcoding to work with AMD iGPU (Vega) on AMD mini PC...

My plex server GPU hardware passthru show has the Radeon Card.   But when I run multiple Plex 4K movies it only show direct stream and it does not show HW.  When I checked the GPU Statistic not Active Apps.  So how to force Plex Server to use the HW transcoding first so it will free up my CPU for VM tasks.

You must use beta which requires plexpass, and only the official plex  docker. Do you have all of that?

Plex Beta + plexpass

and still no hw transcoding :D
my guess is still no proper support for HX 370 model?, which is weird as it should just work as other APU works

Just type /dev/dri not /dev/dri:/dev:dri

Fyi, I edited original post to correct possible /dev/dri parameter

did that too :) before unfortunately same issue, but yes your right about /dev/dri since i can go to that folder.

i do think is just the lack of proper drivers for this hardware, I even tried a custom (newer) kernel of unraid, same issue.

when you do radeontop in terminal, it doesnt really know the gpu model yet:

let alone the motherboard for Fan and Temp monitoring, those are unavailable.

just fyi I have the Minisforum N5 Pro NAS.

running sensors on the terminal

Bit of an old thread, but anyone got a 3200g working or similar, looking to somewhat downgrade and was hoping this would be enough for any transcodes, mainly 1080p
