Unauthenticated Access to Share Files

Featured Replies

I was able to access my Unraid SMB shares in an incognito browser session without being prompted to login. All of my shares are set to Private limited with user access in the UNRAID permission settings. FTP and NFS are disabled while SMB is enabled. Why don't I get a login prompt or an error when trying to view files in any browser? This unauthorized access is possible in Firefox, Chrome, and Edge. I am running Unraid Version: 6.12.5.

Here is the URL I used for any share on my server: file://[server_ip]/[sharename]/[foldername]/

Thanks!

Sounds like windows is using saved credentials.

Try removing the server name or IP from windows credentials and try again, also make sure your windows username and password isn't an allowed user for the share.

Thanks, that was the issue.
