appdata and system set to ssd-cache yet new dockers hinder spindown

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm new to unraid and have finally finished my hardware setup :

ASRock N100M

32GB Ram

2*m2 drives w/ 1 and 4TB

4 harddrives

During the configuration I made an error and did not directly set appdata and the system share to one of the ssd pools. Now the issue is that even dockers I installed later after adding the SSD and chaning the settings result in spin ups of the disks or hinder a spin down.

Question: How do I fix this -  I found some older information that suggested to use mover here. I tried it but it didnt work. Is there a step-by-step description for 6.12?

thank you

appdata and system shares have files on the array.

Nothing can move open files. Also, mover won't move files on shares that have no secondary storage. And mover won't replace files, so there may be some manual cleanup required if files exist in both places.

Disable Docker in Settings.

Set both appdata and system shares to

  • Primary storage: m2ssdfikwotcache
  • Secondary storage: array
  • Mover action: Array -> m2ssdfikwotcache

Run Mover in Main - Array Operation, wait for it to complete

Then post new diagnostics.
