December 13, 20232 yr I swapped the hardware for my server, (motherboard, CPU and RAM) to new hardware, everything was great and the server ran stable for about 6 months. Now however the server will stop responding over the network after running for between 3-6 hours. Then the server will stop showing on my network. The only solution I have to resolve this is to long press the power button to hard shutdown. Here is the list of things I have taken 1. ping the IP, no response 2. single press the power button, has no effect 3. all docks stop resounding. 4. attempt to SSH into the server, however it does not respond. 5. Ran a memtest for about 30 hours and that came back clean I turned on write logs to USB, and will attach those, as well as a diagnostics. If someone with more knowledge can take a look and let me know what they think it would be most appreciated. syslog nasty-diagnostics-20231212-2124.zip
December 13, 20232 yr Community Expert There are multiple apps segfaulting, suggesting a RAM issue, if memtest didn't find anything try running the server with just one stick of RAM, if the same try a different one, that will basically rule out the RAM or a board stability issue when all 4 DIMMs are loaded.
December 14, 20232 yr Author So ive spent all day swapping out individual RAM sticks. Each stick in DIMM2 as per the instructions in the MOBO manual. Each one would boot and the server would crash within 2 hours. Frequently within 1. Attached is the syslog file again pulled after all 4 attempts and 1 attempts with a stick in DIMM 1 syslog
