All of the sudden, problems :(

I have been using UNRAID for 5+ years now, i have never had a problem - now all of the sudden I am having major issues

 

I have not added anything or changed any settings

 

All of sudden I am unable to move files from my computer to my UNRAID - it begins transferring, then it says it lost connection

 

I noticed recently when wacthing movies it will freeze or lock up

 

I am now suddenly not able to access //Tower or via the web address

 

I can still see the data and drives on my network and the data in the drives

 

I am a newbe and get lost beyond basic stuff

 

I will buy you a beer if you can help - i have spend all day today rebooting, updating the UNRAID firmware, etc and i have not been able to fix the problem

 

I am using windows 7

Sorry -my bad - below is my Syslog file

 

One other thing i forgot, my cache disk appeared to be not always moving files to the other disks

Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but it looks like your syslog is basically showing the bootup sequence.  Nothing immediately stood out to me, but I'm also not an expert at reading these.  It's recognizing your drives, file system is set for read/write and the array starts.  It may be helpful to try and transfer files to the array so we can see what a failure looks like.  I'd suggest another reboot to clean out your syslog, try a transfer and then pull syslog post failure.  Also, you can attach a text file to your post rather than posting it to the message body...it's much easier that way.

 

You might try some basics.  Failed RAM is a classic cause of system hangs...running memtest86 will alleviate any concerns there.  Also, I'd look into the networking aspects...can you ping "tower" and the system's IP address when it fails to determine if it's a DNS issue or just http that's unavailable.  You might try some different ports on your switch, a different cable, etc.  Depending on your network topology's complexity, you may need to try switch isolation testing to make sure you're not dealing with a bad switch.  A failed syslog will be more revealing whether it's a problem with the system or potentially elsewhere.
