Appdata and Cache

I know this has been asked before, but I cannot find a definitive answer to this without a trail 500 posts long.

If I put appdata on the Cache, then as in my case its an SSD, it if dies, I lose all my app settings.

If I set the secondary device to be the array, then it gives me warnings that files and directories are on the chase.

I want to run it fast but need to bac it up, what setting should I be using, I just dont get it ?

This is true as far as it goes.   The normal answer is to install the CA Backup plugin to backup the 'appdata' share that is on cache elsewhere (typically the main array) at scheduled intervals.
