February 16, 20242 yr Unraid 6.12.6 I tried to replace one data drive in my single parity array with a larger hard drive - from 500GB to 4TB - my parity drive is 4TB. The newly inserted drive had a fatal hardware error (confirmed by trying to format it on a separate computer) and I put the old 500GB disk back into my array so that it could rebuild parity and I wasn't left without data protection until I can buy another large drive. Unraid doesn't accept the old drive and says on the Main tab right next to the grayed out START button: Replacement disk too small. I can't seem to get Unraid to accept this old drive - it is as if the 4TB information from the bad drive is somewhere stored and doesn't accept anything smaller in that disk slot anymore. I was able to take the 500GB disk completely out of the configuration and the array started, however I am now not protected against another drive failure. Thoughts? Thanks Rainer
