Parity Disk and Disk1 : INVALID

Featured Replies

Hi Guys.

I need help badly. My Parity disk is showing INVALID, so as DISK1. I am running version 5.12a. In the smartmon test results shows overall health for both disks is OK. I don't know what to do next   :-\.

I just need to be able to get my data back. I attached the relevant files.

Please help this newbie.

Thanks.

Edit:

Just noticed this on the syslog of the suspect disk (after the command "mount"):

Nov  1 01:14:19 myDLNA emhttp: shcmd (28): set -o pipefail ; mount -t reiserfs -o user_xattr,acl,noatime,nodiratime /dev/md1 /mnt/disk1 |$stuff$ logger (Other emhttp)

Nov  1 01:14:19 myDLNA emhttp: disk1 mount error: 32 (Errors)

smart-parity.txt

smart-disk1.txt

syslog-2011-11-01n.txt

I didnt stop to look to hard at your errors.

i did notice at a glance that your parity drive is  in poor health and is brand new?..

20 hours old?

Power_On_Hours =  20

with Reallocated_Sector_Ct  =467

Seek_Error_Rate  = 1320

and Reallocated_Event_Count = 272

at least it had no pending Current_Pending_Sector

I'd say someone played football with it , overheated it badly (I didnt see max temp reading).. or you have bad connections.

Speaking of bad connections..

disk1 = UDMA_CRC_Error_Count = 6 as the only bad thing on it that stuck out.. that's usually a loose cable.
