I saw this deal but wasn't sure about it when I finished my research they were out of stock  >:(

This was the deal for the HP ProLiant MicroServer but it DID NOT state the model N40L but did list the same HP part #: 658553-001

http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/rts_server/rts_server/1/storefronts/658553-001

What is the product difference between the above offer and the following offer:

http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF05a/15351-15351-4237916-4237918-4237917-4248009.html

The only difference I could detect is the processor, but could not find anything in detail.

Any comments if this is a decent deal if it should come back?

These are available on Ebay for $230-250 with free shipping - just search for the HP MicroServer

The difference can be in the size of the included hard drive but it is 160-250GB so you will remove this one anyway.

The ones he linked are the newer model with the  1.5GHz CPU, 250GB drive and 2 gigs of ram (1 stick).

the different part numbers are probably just that one is a promo part#. they appear to be the exact same PC. HP does that with desktops too.

If they had more at $75 off I would pick one up as a Christmas gift. that is not a bad price..

it is $350ish at newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16859107052

In the data sheets & from the website it says for the promo version regarding the Processor:

Processor: AMD Dual Core 1.5GHz Athlon II

For the $349 version it says regarding processor in the PDF data sheet:

Processor: AMD Turion™ II Neo N40L (1.5GHz)

But then on Overview of the $349 version regarding processors it says:

Processor family:

AMD Athlon™ II

AMD Turion™ II

I could not find any difference regarding these two processors, but I presume that either one will do for an UnRaid server. This leaves just one remaining hick-up, how to combine two shares from two different servers into one share. Otherwise this will just be a test box for preclearing drives and testing Beta versions. I am dying to find a solution for the four 3TB Hitachi drives that I bought a few months ago for $109.
