Read only for docker user

Recommended Posts

Currently im trying out the PhotoPrism docker.

In some other cases I'm having no problem with trusting the docker images but I don't want to trust this one because it really could mess up my private pictures which I've made for decades now. Perhaps this is absolutly unnecessary but I seem to be a little bit more careful with this kind of data (even with several backups).

Due to this I'm asking myself which user is used when a docker container is running. Is there a specific user used at all?
I could than make the originals folder read only and everything would be fine. At least when the docker image doesn't try to change anything in this folder. Am I right? Did someone try this before?

If the image doesn't work afterwards I have to uninstall the docker container, even though I really like PhotoPrism (I've tried it with test data).

Perhaps there is another solution for my "problem".

Hmmm. Perhaps I could remove the access permissions from all of my users and give the permissions only to my normal users which should have access. Right?
This would be so simple. Sometimes you have to change the point of view. :)
Thx. I'll try it out.
