April 29, 20242 yr Hi, I have Unraid since a few months and now I'm facing my first big problem. Everything happened on Saturday: at the moment I have an array of 4 disks+Parity with a load factor of 89%. Suddenly on Saturday afternoon I saw my load factor from 89% down to 80% and just a few mis later I've discovered that a huge amount of data from disk3 are.....disappeared.... infact from around 9Tb of data in the DIsk4 now I see from the dashboard only 4,55Tb no error message or SMART warning. What should I do or what can I do? I suppose that if I will replace the DIsk3 the parity will rebuild only 4,55 not the entire disk I suppose, it is like the files have been deleted, but not by me. COuld be also a corruption of XFS? I appreciate every idea Thank you

Made things more complicated actually. 5 hours ago, Lybra85 said: replace the DIsk3 the parity will rebuild only 4,55 not the entire disk It will rebuild the entire disk based on the contents of the emulated disk, which only has 4+ TB of data. 5 hours ago, Lybra85 said: the files have been deleted Or moved to another disk maybe?

As said.....the load counter shifted from 89% down to 80% ......files have not been moved but deleted sadly Regarding access I am the only owner, server Is online and I use remote with a VPN tunnel but I think an hacking Attack Is very difficult......only One folder in One disk has bene removed, they could have donne way more damages....

But why..... In any case, my idea now Is replace the Disk3 with a new disk, let Parity Rebuild and the trying ti recover the files from the "old" disk with some software. The less I touch the more I should be able to recover, correct?
