Seagate Momentus XT 750GB drives in the market now.

I've been waiting for these to come to market.

Once the price drops, I'll jump on the band wagon.

Although not the best candidate for unRAID mass storage. these would make a good cache drive especially if you carve up the partition structure for an application area and swap.

 

I'm considering a pair of these for use in an ESXi build for the virtual machine storage.

 

I've been praising the 500GB XT hybrids since they came to market, Can't wait to test out these.

Looks like a very nice upgrade for my MacBook Pro when the prices come in a little.

 

I am using a USB connected Intel 320 SSD (120GB) for a Win2008R2 virtual machine and it is way faster than on the built-in hard drive.  Lack of latency makes a big difference, even over a slower interconnect like USB 2.0.

 

This SSD is eventually destined to be an ESXi datastore drive once I get the new server hardware procured.
