New UNRAID doesn't "see" PATA drives (but does see SATA drives)

I'm setting up a new UNRAID system, using a collection of "old" drives. The motherboard bios sees all the drives, 3 SATA and 2 PATA. UNRAID installs, but when selecting the devices, only the SATA drives are available.

Motherboard is ASUS P5LD2-VM, 1 gbyte RAM

BIOS settings:

'Auto' for LBA, Block transfer, DMA mode, PIO mode. 32 bit transfer enabled

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but couldn't see anything browsing thru the forum

Thanks, Joe - that was it. So, for this motherboard:

In BIOS Settings

IDE configuration (Incorrect options in brackets)

Configure SATA as Standard IDE (SATA)

Onboard IDE Operation Mode enhanced (compatible)

Combined Mode Operation  SATA only (PATA only, Primary PATA+SATA)

Regards.

Be aware that on some motherboards. configuring the SATA drives as IDE made them run really really slow, as if in PIO mode.

You will know if this is true in your case if your parity build takes days to complete, instead of hours.  If your parity build speed is fast, then don't worry about the BIOS options that allow you to see all the drives.  If  slow, some other combination of BIOS options will probably work.
