Powerful enough CPU for Unraid and Docker

Featured Replies

I’m planning on building my first Unraid server. Due to budget constraints, need for IPMI (and nice to have ECC), I’ve settled on a Supermicro X10SLL-F with a Xeon E3-1265l v3 and 16Gb ram.

If passmark is of any meaningful metric, this cpu scores 2000/6200 points on single/multi thread tasks.

My question is, is this server powerfull enough to run Unraid, along with Plex (ideally no transcoding but some occasionally), BlueIris or frigate on a VM with 4-5 cameras, and a few other *arr/transmission containers? Maybe home assistant too.

Looking at most Synology specs, their cpus barely score above 5000 on Passmark. I have the option to use an i5-10400/11400 too. But like I said, IPMI is highly desired and ECC would be nice to have.

PS: does that board support a cpu with an igpu?
