Multiple devices are using the same IP address - network setup and configuration questions

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am constantly seeing an error message on my UDMPro -

Multiple devices are using the same IP address: 192.168.50.70. Please check each device's configuration to ensure none are communicating with a rogue DHCP server.

This is my current Unraid setup -

  • 3 x NICs setup as a Bond0 (Active-Backup configuration)
    • All setup as trunk port - native VLAN 50 - IP: 192.168.50.10 (static)
  • Under this bond0, I have multiple VLANs setup for each of my networks
    • VLAN 10 - Main - IP: 192.168.10.206 (DHCP)
    • VLAN 20 - IoT - IP: 192.168.20.206 (DHCP)
    • VLAN 30 - Camera - IP: 192.168.30.206 (DHCP)
  • Docker containers running under different networks, some using bridge mode, some using bond0 and some with custom internal network
  • VMs using vhost0

Why do I see duplicate IPs for 192.168.10.205 but not for any other network?

Also, can anyone tell me the different between the different gateways configured on the networking within Unraid -

  • docker0
  • br-<random num>
  • vhost0
  • bond0
  • virbr0

Also, which gateway is used for accessing various things on Unraid externally?

  • Unraid web interface
  • Docker containers
  • VMs

thanks so much!

Rory
