Is it possible to run both sata & sas drives from a single 9305-24i? 

 

I'm already using 5 of the 6 connections to SAS drives but wonder if I can use the spare mini-SAS HD connector to split out to 4 sata drives

 

I've read in a on discord that mixing SAS/SATA drives is usually a bad thing?  I wouldn't be adding these extra drives to the array they would be in a pool.
