I was reading another thread and it asked for the output of 'btrfs fi show'

If the log tree is the only issue, this may help:

btrfs rescue zero-log /dev/sdj1

Then re-start the array

Thank you - that worked!

Is there any fear of corruption from this issue?

  • Community Expert

Not usually, but it has been known to re-occur, and if that happens recommend re-formatting the pool

Thanks again Jorge! - Marked as solved

@JorgeB - For some reason my cache seems to be set to Read-Only now.

any way to fix this?

Post new diags.

Pool went read-only during the balance, there are other filesystem issues, recommend backup and re-format.

Also see macvlan call traces, make sure you update to 6.12.11

Is mover a viable way to backup? or will it fail due to being unable to delete the readonly items?

  • Community Expert

I believe it can still copy the data, it will fail to delete, but I would use a different tool, like midnight commander or the Dynamix File Manager plugin

  • Author

Thanks! Everything is back up and running.

In case I forget and have to do this again:

Used Dynamix to copy the data off to another drive.

-Stopped the array

- erased the pool from within the cache pool settings

- started the array & formatted the cache pool

- Copied everything back to the cache pool

- started up docker and everything checks out.
