probably a dumb/simple preclear question RE: AF drives (or not?)...

Featured Replies

I have 4 Samsung 1TB drives that I want to add to my unRAID server.  The instructions for running preclear all state "If you are preclearing any AF drives, be sure to use the -A option"

I've done some searching, and it's unclear to me how I know if the drives are AF drives, but it seems to be clear that if I do this incorrectly, I will suffer from slower than best-case speed on the drives.

So, how can I be sure if I need to use the -A option, so I get it right the first time?

Also, how can I be sure I did it correctly on the drives I'm already using?

Current drives are (4) 3TB Hitachi drives
