Unmountable: unsupported partition layout

Featured Replies

New server and my first one
Was rolling along, albeit with hiccups. Help here is great though and I've been able to get most of my issues sorted by reading what helpful community folks have offered to others. You all are awesome. TIA for any assistance

I'm getting the "unmountable: unsupported partition layout" error when trying to add drives.
Added (qty 07) identical 14Tb WD drives
Drives are brand new shucked Easystores (pretty sure all WD white labels)
Drives running through a LSI-9201 HBA card
Didn't know what i was doing so I first just tried adding them to the array
unraid started to process them, and i first got the unsupported error
removed them from array
used unraid to format all of them to zfs (successful), then I found out about pre-clear
So i ran the pre-clear plugin through unassigned devices (successful) and they all showed that they had pre-clear status
Tried adding back to array and still getting unsupported error
Any thoughts?

Difficult to say for me, but I have two questions :

  1. have you formatted the drives in the array ? (there is a button and a box to tick next to the START button at the bottom of the page)
  2. If so and you still have the issue ; I see that the FS is set to Auto, have you tried setting the FS you want manually, then try to format ?

After that, I might have an idea but I am not expert enough to be sure. In any case, your diagnostics would provide much more information on your system and help to look for the issue.
