hsdb
Hello everyone, After nearly 9 years I would like to replace my old QNAP TS-453A 4x4TB RAID 5, I’m concerned about the possibility the motherboard will fail, lose the array and the data on it. Because of home size, the NAS is sitting in the living room and the one I have is relatively quiet, the new one will need to use the same space and be as energy efficient as possible. Thanks to the information I was able to gather here and there, reading other posts here already answered several of my questions, but I’m not sure if the configuration below, is too much, too little or simply not advisable. I would like to use a Micro Atx for expandability, but was not able to find a Case small enough and with a hot swap plate. Current use case is for Plex library (possible transcoding sometimes), and to store photos, music, backups and documents. On paper have everything I need but I’m not able to find any reviews, or information to understand if these will be a safe and reliable choice. https://a.aliexpress.com/_Ezc3hex (I particularly like this one because of vPro) https://a.aliexpress.com/_Ejv1zbV May I ask your opinion and suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Quote Link to comment
Skyfall
I run the purple CWWK N100 board and it's amazing. Low power consumption ASPM/C-States are possible and there's plenty of connections for storage. https://cwwk.net/collections/nas/products/cwwk-12th-gen-i3-n305-n100-2-intel-i226-v-2-5g-nas-motherboard-6-sata3-0-6-bay-soft-rout-1-ddr5-4800mhz-firewall-itx-mainboard Quote Link to comment
Tron1
I was also looking at that board which has i5-12450H CPU but it uses the JMB585 SATA chipset which is known to have problems with ASPM/C-States. I'm still trying to see if the B760 but the SATA chipset is unknown. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807030178252.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.1.2f066cc5pbVOUt&algo_pvid=ed2dd0fa-5039-4fdb-8013-f4f99326f104&algo_exp_id=ed2dd0fa-5039-4fdb-8013-f4f99326f104-0&pdp_npi=4%40dis!USD!148.05!147.55!!!148.05!147.55!%402101fb1a17225538432954905e9b43!12000039838472929!sea!US!0!ABX&curPageLogUid=fPzU1IzdQBte&utparam-url=scene%3Asearch|query_from%3A I passed on the N100 as it is a little underpowered and only single channel memory.
