January 24, 201214 yr OK, so I can't count properly, and set the Split Level wrongly on one of my shares I use for Music. I set it one too high, which has resulted in songs from the same album being spread across disks. Is there a way to force unRAID to shuffle the files around, to get them in line with the current Split Level. Or a way to list the files that don't match. I know I can move the whole share off unRAID, and then move it back, but I'd rather not do that, if possible. Cheers.
January 24, 201214 yr create a new user share 'music_1' with correct split levels, then move all data to the new share, delete the old share by blanking out the share name and hitting apply. then rename the 'music_1' to music.

Copy the contents to the new share. It won't be fixed if you move due to a file system limitation ("feature") which will force the files to still use the same disk even though it violates the share settings. You can run into this limitation any time you move files between locations on the server. Instead of following the share settings, the file will just move to the new directory location on the same disk. You could also move the files to the cache disk and then run the mover, assuming you have a cache disk. In the end, it's almost the same as moving the files off and moving them back. Peter
January 24, 201214 yr Can you move them folder from the "wrong" disk to the correct disk (not using shares)? You likely have /mnt/disk1/music/album and /mnt/disk2/music/album if you move /mnt/disk2/music to /mnt/disk1/music it should merge all the subfolders together. If you used windows, it would ask you to confirm you want merge the folders, I'm not sure what Midnight Commander will do.
January 27, 201214 yr I would like to do this as well... Does anyone have a 'correct' way to re-align split level?
February 8, 201214 yr I've been able to do this using rsync. It does take manual work but not much. Basically decide what needs to be merged, where you want it, and run the command. Lots of tree commands to see what was out of place...
