Unraid 7.02 Restore flash backup on new USB

Featured Replies

Hi, my server became inaccessible via the gui, so I rebooted it.

It then refused to boot, showing the message "invalid boot signature 0x85df"

As this has happened once before, I created a new flash drive, on a different USB stick, using the last flash backup that was created and uploaded to unraid connect

With the included backup, the server booted, but I could not access the gui from my PC, or the server itself.

So, I created the flash drive again, but with no included backup.

What is the best course of action to take, to avoid setting everything up again, please?

I have been using the appdata backup plugin, so is it a combination of copying files from the USB backup and restoring the appdata backups?

If so, which files and folders do I need to copy over?

TIA,

Alan

You can try restoring just the bare minimum, like the key, super.dat and the pools folder for the assignments, also copy the docker user templates folder, if all works you can then reconfigure the server or try restoring a few config files at a time from the backup to see if you can find the culprit.
