August 25, 20241 yr Hello, I wanted to add my SDD as cache for unraid to use it for the dockers (appdata) instead of having the disk spins all the time. But I don't understand what I did wrong, the size of the cache is 537 MB in btrfs, In Shares I tried to set it to first cache and second in array. I then tried to put it in only array to try format the SDD again but now there is still data in the cache : I tried to run the mover but there is still data on the cache. What should I do ?
August 25, 20241 yr Community Expert Solution I assume there's no data there yet, if yes, stop the array, type wipefs -af /dev/nvme0n1 then blkdiscard -f /dev/nvme0n1 then reboot and reformat the pool again.
August 25, 20241 yr Author It worked thank you I also add another question, maybe you can help. I wan't to add another ssd for cache to not loose data. Do they need to be the exact same model or I can buy on with the same size like a Samsung 990 Evo as it's cheaper ? Edited August 25, 20241 yr by Powablocks
