August 31, 20241 yr I am currently building an AI Unraid server with some server-grade hardware. The Case has a 12 bay storage bay in the front, 3 seperate backplanes for each row (3 x 4). Problem now is that they dont show up entirely, i even can't find controller information in the Bios. They got power (orange LED) when i boot, but nothing else happens. Motherboard has 2 x SlimSAS und 4 x SATA connectors. 2 of the 3 backplanes are connected via SAS cables and the 3th with a SAS to 4xSATA cable. Don't know if it's a motherboard problem or if all(?) 3 backplanes are bad. Bios is the newest from ASUS. Hardware: Case: SilverStone SST-RM61-312 Rack MB: ASUS Pro WS WRX90E-Sage SE CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7975WX GPU: 2x nVidia RTX 6000 Ada RAM: 8x Kingston RAM Kingston D5 5600 96GB C46 ECC

Thats not an Unraid problem, more a general hardware problem. they dont show up in the bios nor are they spinning up. Just got into the rabbit hole with the PWDIS problem with new harddrives. The backplanes get their power over a 4 pin molex from the PSU. i can't find out if my new drives have the PWDIS connector or not. But it could be the problem why nothing happens when booting.
