clowncracker Posted September 7, 2024 Posted September 7, 2024 (edited) I have a disk error for disk 5 and I'm exactly sure what to do. I've attached a diagnostics file. When I try to run a SMART extended self-test, nothing happens. It get the following error: Smartctl open device: /dev/sdm failed: No such device Edited September 21, 2024 by clowncracker removed diagnostic Quote
JorgeB Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Disk dropped offline so there's no SMART, check/replace cables and post new diags after array start. Quote

Here are the new diagnostics. I also ran a SMART extended self-test on disk 5 before I started the array (I restarted the server). Edited September 21, 2024 by clowncracker removed diagnostic Quote
Solution JorgeB Posted September 8, 2024 Solution Posted September 8, 2024 SMART looks fine, and since the emulated disk is mounting, and assuming contents look correct, you can rebuild on top: https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/manual/storage-management#rebuilding-a-drive-onto-itself Quote
