[SOLVED] Accessing unRAID box remotely

Featured Replies

Once I have everything all set up right, I plan on putting this box with unRAID in the basement where it will quietly be my media distribution hub. My question is, if something is going wrong with it, can I access it remotely like Windows Remote Desktop or something? It'll be down there with no monitor or keyboard so if I need to do anything, I'd like to be able to from a PC on my network, if possible.

Telnet will work fine for most things.

But if you need bios/monitor access you will need to get some kind of kvm (i have one from Monoprice that converts kvm to cat5 and back so long distance run is possible).

So is Telnet a client I can use on my Windows PC and it will mirror what I am typing on the server? A KVM won't do me much good since it will be the only computer in the area. I suppose I could just get the smallest cheapest monitor I can find and I have about a dozen keyboards laying around.

Sorry, typing on my phone or id give you better explanation. Look up what a KVM is and does.

Look up what telnet is and your software options.
